BHOPAL: One out of five youths, arrested from Rewa for murder of a taxi driver of Bhopal, has reportedly confessed to killing truck driver in Kolkata in May this year.
Dharmendra Singh Patel was arrested with three other accomplices, Vijay Choudhary, Pappu and Vipin Rawat on July 23 for murdering a taxi driver, Sitaram. The trio had booked his taxi, Tavera, over phone on July 9.
During investigation, Patel admitted to murdering truck driver Shiv Bahadur, police said. Kolkata police have been informed about it and are expected to come here soon.
During interrogation, Patel revealed that he went to Kolkata around eight years ago and worked as a cleaner on truck of Shiv Bahadur. However, Bahadur ill-treated him and would not give food or money, Patel told police, adding that the truck driver kept him like a bonded labourer.
However, one day he got a chance and made a call to his family in Rewa after which his family went there and brought him back. But Patel wanted to settle scores. He went back to Kolkata and murdered him along with one of accomplices.
Police said they have recovered few things, including driving licence of Bahadur from Patel. On the basis of which Kolkata murder case was cracked. The murder case is being investigated by Dhankuri police, officials added. Nagendra, a cousin of Patel, and an accused in the Sitaram murder case, was also nabbed, police added.
On June 4, a taxi driver from Ashoka Garden area here, who took passengers in Innova, was found murdered in jungles of Sehore. Police are also investigating the involvement of trio in this case.
