2 principals, 1 other booked for cheating

An FIR has been registered against three members of a school in Ulhasnagar in the district, including two headmistresses, for allegedly swindling over Rs 13 lakh from the school funds, police said on Saturday.

The accused have been identified as Hema Velani and Geeta Chawla and clerk Hitasha Mansharamani of Sri Gangaram Singh National English School at Ulhasnagar township, senior police inspector V C Dolas of the Vitthalwadi police station said.

One of the trustees Daulat Peshumal Valnani, of the Hyderabad Sindh National Collegiate Board, Mumbai which runs the school had registered a complaint against the trio.

According to the complaint, during their service in the Sri Gangaram Singh National English School between 2011 and 2013 the trio had swindled money to the tune of around Rs 13.64 lakh. PTI
