The two-day global reunion of Don Bosco in Egmore, DB Converge, at the ITC Grand Chola was a star-studded affair as successful alumni shared nostalgic memories of their time in school.

In front of a lively audience, noted journalist Sashi Kumar moderated a panel of speakers that included journalist Sanjay Pinto, business leaders such as Keshav Murugesh, Group CEO, WNS Global services, V Sumantran, advisor to the Hinduja Group, actors Y Gee Mahendra and Arvind Swami, Indian tennis legend Vijay Amritraj and the young racing star Armaan Ebrahim. None of the speakers held back and were often heard making fun of teachers and recollecting their life in school. Two teachers – Father Mallon and Mr. Selvadoray – were fondly remembered by the speakers, many of whom recounted the impact they had on their lives.

The event concluded with Vijay Amritraj delivering a funny but heartfelt speech. He even narrated an incident that happened when he played a game against John McEnroe. “A guy from the crowd, shouted, ‘Do it for Don Bosco.’ And I won the set 7-5.”
