LA-based former Neighbours starlet Nicky Whelan broke out from her tough-gal role as Annie, in hit US TV drama Matador, last week to pop the bathers back on for a Maxim poolside shoot. "I said: 'Hell, if you still want me in a bikini, I'll bring it!'" Nicky, 32, tells Soap Extra, on sale this Thursday.

Another beach-babe-with-brains bulletin: central coast model and swimwear designer Sheridyn Fisher, whois hosting next Saturday's Dom Perignon Masquerade party at Marquee, has a surprise ambition: "I'd love to direct a Batman movie," says the comic-book fan. She's already directed a short Harley Quinn fan movie and is working on a second.
