KANPUR: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed by the accomplices of a local goon in Mubarakpur area in Jahanganj in Farrukhabad district on Thursday over a property dispute. A case has been filed while the accused are absconding.
Reports said the five accused barged into the girl's house and attacked her with knife when she raised an alarm. The girl was rushed to a nearby hospital from where she was shifted to the Lohia Hospital when her condition deteriorated.
Her mother and her elder sister also sustained stab injuries when they tried to save her. The two are undergoing treatment at another hospital.
A complaint had been lodged with the Jehanabad police and the accused have been booked under Section 307 of the IPC. The police have pressed several teams to arrest the absconding accused.
The girl's family alleged that she was molested by unidentified accomplices of one Benche Lal, with whom the family had a property dispute. "They tried to drag her away on Thursday and stabbed her when she resisted," said a relative of the girl while talking to TOI over phone. Hearing their screams, the neighbours gathered at the spot while the assailants escaped. The girl needed several stitches on her neck and stomach. The SO said that she was stated to be out of danger.
Although a relative of the girl alleged that the police initially refused to file a complaint, the SO denied the charge. "The complainants were bleeding profusely. So, the officer on duty suggested them to go to the hospital first," he said.
The police said that the girl was injured in a property related feud with the neighbour.
