Selangor MB crisis: Hadi’s view is personal, not party’s, says Mat Sabu

PETALING JAYA: PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s support for Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to remain as Selangor Mentri Besar is Hadi's personal view and not PAS’ official stand, said PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu.

According to news reports, Mohamad Sabu said that a meeting to determine PAS' official stand on Khalid's position as Selangor Mentri Besar will be made after the Hari Raya celebrations.

"A meeting is scheduled to be held on August 10 to discuss Khalid's position and we will see what happens after that," said Mohamad Sabu.

"Let us wait and see what the outcome of the meeting on August 10 is. The meeting may be brought forward or held after the Hari Raya festivities," he said.

Yesterday, Hadi expressed his support for Khalid to remain as Selangor Mentri Besar despite allies PKR and DAP’s declaration that they want Khalid replaced.

Hadi said that he was in favour of Khalid remaining as the Mentri Besar because he has been doing a good job as a leader.

“That is my stand and I hope all PAS leaders are with me,” he said, adding that the decision was made after considering the views of PAS members.

Hadi said Khalid’s track record in helming Selangor and retaining the state in the 13th general election could not be denied, despite problems in Pakatan Rakyat.
