1 killed in shootout at Wasseypur

DHANBAD: Wasseypur witnessed yet another shootout late on Thursday when Irshad Alam alias Tunna Khan was gunned down at Nabinagar here. He received three bullet injuries and was declared brought dead by doctors at Central Hospital here.
Tension gripped the town following the murder of Alam, who was the nephew of Fahim Khan, another outlaw of Wasseypur currently lodged in Hazaribag jail.Alam was injured in 2005 too when some miscreants shot at him at a petrol pump near Dhanbad railway station. The bullet remained stuck in his neck for over a month and its removal required surgical intervention.
Deputy SP Amit Ranjan, inspector of Bank More police station Ashok Kumar Singh and inspector of Saraidhela police station Renu Gupta rushed Nabinagar immediately after the incident.
Police said, "Alam was returning home on his bike when he was intercepted by some miscreants. One bullet hit him. He then left his bike and tried to run for cover, but was chased by the assailants who pumped two more bullets into his face from a close range."
