Manchester United have confirmed that Portuguese forward Bebe has completed his switch to Benfica.

The Portuguese champions sealed a €3m deal for the player with an additional offer of 50% of the fee from any sale of the forward in the future.

"Manchester United forward Bebe has joined Benfica in a deal worth up to €3million, with the right to 50% of any sell-on fee," a statement read on United's official website.

The 24-year-old was signed by former Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson from Viteria de Guimaraes in 2010. However, Bebe failed to feature regularly in United's first team and spent the last few seasons on loan.

Bebe's form during his loan spell at Pacos de Ferreira last season saw him attract interest from Benfica. He has vowed to give his best for both the club and their fans in helping Benfica achieve their goals.

"I have to offer fans and Benfica much. I think I can, starting today or tomorrow, require much from me. I'll be 100%, I'll try to help Benfica to achieve the objectives. I want to help the team take a lot of joy to the fans," Bebe told Benfica's official website.

"I am delighted to be in to sign for Lisbon and Benfica. They come from long this will play in Benfica and now, this opportunity came along, I could not be happier. Because Benfica is very strong, but because since childhood I am Benfica and this is also important."
