Public outcry in Bohri -Anand Nagar as road turns into death trap

JAMMU, July 25: The residents of Anand Nagar Bohri have expressed grave concern over the dilapidated condition of the road leading to Khomansa which has become a death trap.
Expressing grave concern over the negligent attitude of the authorities towards this busy road the residents said that road is totally in bad condition and daily fatal accidents take place on it. Only yesterday a young scooterist was killed on this road at Anand Nagar. Besides many accidents have taken place on this road over the past two-three months.
The people of the area have warned to launch agitation in case immediate steps were not taken to renovate the road and make it worth for movement of vehicular traffic.
They said being among the busy roads of Jammu, the authorities should take immediate steps for its renovation. They said it is unfortunate that PWD authorities who are fully aware of the fact are deliberately avoiding renovating the road. In an appeal to R&B Minister, Abdul Majid Wani, the people have demanded immediate renovation of road.
The problem has been aggravated by the digging of the road for laying of telephone cables by a private company as they have not renovated the entire portion after laying the cable said the representatives of Welfare Committee Tumal.
Meanwhile, the residents of Laleh Da Bagh, Udaywala, Ghajansoo have expressed concern over the failure of the concerned agencies in constructing a bridge over the nullah on Ghajansoo road at Udaywalla.
The people said that the work on the bridge was started over two years back and since then it has not been completed with the result the people of the area were facing many hardships. The slow pace of the work on construction of the bridge has generated a lot of resentment in this entire belt. The people have demanded intensification of work and speedy completion of the bridge.
