PCC, TTFMC pay tributes to Kargil War martyrs

JAMMU, July 25: Member Legislative Council (MLC) and spokesperson, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Ravinder Sharma visited Qila Darhal and paid tributes to Kargil War martyrs Joginder Singh of 14 JK Light Infantry, today.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma described him a brave solider who laid down his life for the sake of motherland in 1999 Kargil War.
He said that the Kargil War was fought for more than 60 days during May–July in harsh weather conditions which ended on July 26, 1999. He also appreciated the people of border area who are living on mountains and defending the country in civil dress.
Sharma provided Rs 2 lakh from his MLC-CDF scheme for road connectivity to the village of Shaheed Joginder Singh.
He disclosed that a project of water filtration plant of Rs 14.70 corers has been sanctioned for providing safe/clean drinking to Qila Darhal and adjoining villages of the area.
The programme was attended by Paramjit Singh, Rajinder Singh, Sarpanchs, Army personal and large number of civilians.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held at Tanda, Akhnoor, wherein tributes were also paid to Kargil martyrs who fought bravely in Kargil War in 1999 to evict Pakistanis from our sacred soil.
A two minutes silence was held in the memory of those brave sons of the soil who laid down their young lives for countrymen.
The meeting was organised by Tanda Tiger Force Memorial Committee (TTFMC), which was chaired by KP Singh, chief organiser of committee.
The meeting was attended by Colonel JP Singh, Sub Gian Singh, Thoru Ram Sharma, Advocate PS Parmar, Hav Mohinder Singh, Deep Singh, etc.
