The controversy surrounding the statement of a minister saying no to pub culture and bikini does not seem to die down.
Goa minister supports brother's 'no bikini' stand
PANAJI: Cooperation minister Pandurang 'Deepak' Dhavalikar on Friday said he fully supported his elder brother PWD minister Ramakrishna 'Sudin' Dhavalikar's statement that women should neither wear short skirts to pubs nor bikinis to beaches.
Asked whether he supported his elder brother's recent statement opposing the pub culture and bikinis, Pandurang said: "One hundred percent.
He (Ramakrishna) has not said anything wrong. What is wrong is wrong. We Goans have such good culture. We must give that to tourism. We must not take what they bring here. This is the meaning of the statement."
Pandurang, who is from the Maharashtra Gomantak Party (MGP), said the traditional culture of Goa must remain. "We must protect our culture of many generations," he said. "The MGP, which is in alliance with the ruling BJP in Goa, will make all efforts to protect that culture."

Asked if the MGP will keep its alliance with the BJP for the 2017 assembly elections, Dhavalikar said: "Time will decide, development will decide, relationships will decide."
