MUHS declares affiliated, blacklisted colleges' list

NASHIK: The Maharashtra university of health sciences (MUHS) has announced a list of medical colleges affiliated to it for the admission process to be conducted for the coming academic year. It also appeals the parents to be cautious while choosing college.
In a circular issued by the MUHS, a list of affiliated Colleges (excluding deemed Universities) whom Continuation / Extension of Affiliation for the Academic Year 2014-15 has been granted on July 24 has been declared.
The list includes name of central aided, government and private college for various faculties like MBBS, BPMT, paramedical course, dental (BDS), Ayurved and Unani (BAMS and BUMS) and allied health sciences.
In its circular it has listed as many as 31 colleges for MBBS, 20 for BPMT, one for para medical course, 23 for dental, 7 for Ayurved and Unani (BAMS and BUMS), 15 for the course of physiotherapy, 20 for the course of basic B.Sc. Nursing, 11 for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and one each got occupational therapy and BASLP across the state.
Meanwhile, the university has also issued a public notice on Friday stating the list of black listed Trust/Institutes whose colleges are disaffiliated permanently as per the action taken u/s 73 of MUHS Act 1998 from the Academic Year 2013-14 onwards by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.
The institutions have been blacklisted for a period of next five year. The notice further states that it is also intimated to all concerned that, any such proposal for opening of new health sciences college/starting of new Post Graduate course / Increase in Intake Capacity as per section 64 of MUHS Act 1998 will not be accepted by the University from the concerned Black Listed Trust / Institutes for a period of five years from 2013-14 onwards.
It further states that all concerned, as well as parents and students are hereby advised not to take admissions in the above mentioned permanently disaffiliated colleges. If so, the individual will be wholly responsible for the consequences leading to academic and financial losses if any.
