Concha y Toro Recognized Among the Most Admired Companies in 2014

On the fourteenth version of the survey "The most admired companies in Chile", conducted by Diario Financiero (DF) and Price Waterhouse Chile (PwC Chile), Viña Concha y Toro obtained an important sixth position, with special recognition to its export-oriented business strategy and the certified quality of its products. In this last evaluation, the winery obtained the highest score (6.86), confirming that the wine industry is a major player in the country.

"We have worked on a production model with exclusive focus on wine, vertically integrated from the origin to its commercialization. This way, the company participates in all stages of the production chain -agricultural, technical, distribution and sales- which, together with the sustainable approach of its business strategy, explains how it has reached a leading position in a competitive global market", said Alfonso Larraín, president of the winery.

"In these times, companies face various and complex challenges product of globalization, growth, access to information and the impact of public opinion through the different means of expression that have emerged in recent years. It is this scenario that many companies have been able to overcome new challenges, with actions that result in a real contribution to society. We have seen that those companies that achieve this task with greater success tend to get greater recognition from their surrounding environment, positioning themselves with a positive image within the community", said Javier Gatica, partner at PwC Chile.

This survey gathers the opinion of more than 3,000 local executives from various industries in the country. In an open vote, these executives assigned grades 1-7 to nine categories. Variables such as business strategy, financial soundness and performance, capacity and innovation, product quality, attractive marketing and corporate image, quality of staff and executives, external reporting, and corporate governance are evaluated, making this study being one of the most prestigious in the country.
