TDP placed a 14-point demand that includes reservation for promotion to OBC employees

New Delhi: The Telugu Desam and an organisation working for empowerment of backward classes on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding that the BJP government bring “BC Bill” in Parliament allowing 33 per cent reservation for BCs in Parliament and in state legislatures.

The delegation, led by TD Rajya Sabha member Y. Sujana Chowdary and R. Krishnaiah of the BC Welfare Association, met Mr Modi at the Parliament House and placed a 14-point demand that includes reservation for promotion to OBC employees.

The delegation also informed the Prime Minister about the need for creating a separate ministry for OBCs and extending Social Security Act to OBCs like SC/ST Atrocities Act.

Mr Chowdary said they also demanded Constitutional status for National BC Commission. The delegation claimed that Mr Modi gave a patient hearing to them.
