VADODARA: The crimes happening in six districts of central Gujarat will now be investigated swiftly and efficiently. Police departments of the six districts will introduce mobile investigation vans in their areas. The vans will have all the equipments and facilities to investigate crimes on the spot. The service has been started jointly by the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory in association with 108 Emergency Services, Gujarat Forensic Science University and police department
The mobile investigation vans will cover Vadodara, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Chhota Udepur and Anand.
Every district will get two vans. The vans have already been put to use in two cases of fatal accident and burglary in Bodeli and Chhota Udepur respectively.
The vans are fully air-conditioned and designed as per international standards. Investigators will have access to narco kit, explosive kit and semen testing kit in the vans. It will help field officers in carrying out necessary tests on the spot and reach prima facie conclusions. These vans will be capable of storing evidence in a dust-free and refrigerated condition apart from being equipped with floodlights. The authorities said that these vans will help in proper storage of evidences and increase the rate of crime-solving.
