Suriya's Anjaan pushes Expendables 3 release in India

Each of the stars of Expendables 3 might have saved the world all on their own several times in the past, but this time even their combined might, it seems, has not been enough to take on the star power of Tamil star Suriya. Yes, you read that right! If sources are to be believed, the third part of the franchise will release in India a week after it hits screens everywhere else in the world.
Says a source in the know, 'The global release date of Expendables 3 is August 15. However, in India, the film's release has been pushed by a week to August 22 ' as Suriya's Anjaantoo is scheduled to release on August 15.'
Apart from its English version, Expendables 3 will also be releasing in three Indian languages, namely Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, and as Suriya has a huge Tamil and Telugu fan base, those associated with the release of the Hollywood film reportedly felt that it would be better to avoid a same-day release.
'Having two big films release on the same day will result in both films losing the exclusive focus that they otherwise would get. This way, it is a win-win situation for all,' the source points out.
Expendables 3 features a big list of stars, including Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Wesley Snipes, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
