Ranchi deputy commissioner starts I-Day preparations

RANCHI: Rehearsal for the Independence Day parade in the city will be held from August 8 to 13, deputy commissioner, Vinay Choubey said after a meeting convened discuss the preparations.
Choubey asked authorities to start work for construction of visitors' gallery, barricading of Morhabadi ground, a stage for photographers, a tower for the PA system and toilet facilities for VIPs among others.
Choubey said: "A water proof tent will be pitched on the main stage. A medical camp will also be put up near the ground along with fire brigade to deal with any emergency ."
The DC has also given directions to clean prominent statues or martyrs and other historical figures across the city and the Ranchi Municipal Corporation has been directed to clean the Morhabadi ground and surrounding areas.
