More than 100,000 cars from Liuzhou have been sold nationwide through the “green channel” of railway special trains this year, a year-on-year growth of 26.5 percent.

Liuzhou is one of China’s seven automobile production demonstration bases, and the only city with four motor corporations with a full production line. Liuzhou cars have been transported by rail to other places for years. The first express cargo train, Liuzhou-Putian (Hubei) freight train, opened on May 10, 2012, and became popular among enterprises and cargo owners. Two new lines opened with the destination of Xinzhu in Zhengzhou and Urumqi in Xinjiang, after the reform of freight transportation.

Each special train can be loaded with 290 cars. Cars transported by the special trains can receive discounts and many other beneficial services and policies, so the special line has been more favored by cargo owners. Export sales of Liuzhou’s SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile transported by the special line accounted for half of its total export sales.
