And regardless of what happens, he will always have this highlight of managing to mostly avoid a careless phone-wielding spectator who almost derailed his ride despite the many warnings and complaints from cyclists about fans on the race course.

We’ve said it many times on For The Win, but seriously for the love of the smartphones, when thinking about taking a selfie or talking on the phone we encourage you to ask yourself: Am I likely to get run over by a bike?

It’s disappointing that fans have to be told this more than once.
