Two KFC Locations Will Now Serve Beer In Toronto

KFC Locations In Toronto Will Now Serve Beer. Yes, Beer
KFC Canada

If the thought of a cold one accompanying your fast food has always been your dream, KFC Canada just became your fairy godmother.

KFC Fresh outlets (which have two locations in in Toronto) will be serving beer with their dishes in a new concept restaurant known as "fast casual," according to an announcement on Thursday. As in, your food comes quickly, but why not stay awhile and down a few?

While the liquor licenses haven't yet been approved for the locations just yet, KFC is aiming for fall with the rollout for Molson Canadian, Coors Light, Coors Banquet and Heineken beers to swig alongside your meal.

While some McDonald's locations in Germany and France serve alcohol, booze with fast food is a rarity in North America, so it's easy to see why this will be attractive to the hordes who want some real indulgence with a quick meal.

But don't expect to order a bucket — the open kitchens at KFC Fresh mean everything is prepared right in front of you. Things like rice bowls and grilled wraps are on offer, but so are the indulgence items you really want, like the giant fried chicken sandwiches and loaded waffle fries.

As for other KFC Fresh spots serving up beer across the country, the wait is on.

"There are no current plans just yet," David Vivenes, chief marketing officer at KFC Canada, told The Huffington Post Canada. "We'll be watching customer response with great interest."
