After winning the National Award for the Milkha Singh biopic, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra will start shooting for his next Mirziya in October. While the film-maker has completed recording the music of the film, rehearsals are on to prepare the youngsters— Anil Kapoor’s son, Harshvardhan Kapoor, Saiyami Kher and Anuj who make their debut with this film. “We have completed recording the film’s music. Currently several workshops are being conducted and I have roped in teachers in each department to train these youngsters. I am also spending a lot of time with them,” says Mehra.
With this film, Mehra tries his hand, “at a new genre, something that I haven’t done before. The story is inspired by the folklore of Mirza Sahiban. I have reinterpreted the story to suit today’s time. Gulzarsaab has penned the script and it is a huge challenge to do justice to his writing,” says the film-maker. In fact, when Mehra narrated the story to his team, his word of advice to them was that the film may or may not work. “Give yourself the permission to fail. All of us should be ready to fail in this film. The moment we do not have the fear of failure, toh kuch hoga,” says Mehra.
The film will be shot in Ladakh and Rajasthan.
