Bharti Infratel’s Q1 profit rises 29%
Bharti Infratel's net profit surges to `463 crore in June quarter from `358 crore year earlier
New Delhi: Bharti Infratel Ltd, the telecom tower unit of India’s biggest mobile phone operator, said on Thursday that fiscal first-quarter profit rose 29% as more users accessed the Internet on their phones, increasing demand for telecom infrastructure.
Net profit rose to ₹ 463 crore in the three months ended 30 June from ₹ 358 crore in the year- earlier period, said the company, a unit of Bharti Airtel Ltd. Revenue rose 8% to ₹ 2,843 crore from ₹ 2,622 crore.
Bharti Infratel reported consolidated total expenses for the quarter, at ₹ 1,657.6 crore. The largest component of the expenses was power and fuel, amounting to ₹ 1,056.6 crore.
The company said it will pay shareholders ₹ 4.5 per share as an interim dividend.
