Turkey welcomes UN decision to probe Israeli operation in Gaza

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Thursday welcomed a decision by the UN Human Rights Council to look into possible war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza.

"Israel's atrocities in Gaza should be immediately investigated and the results should be shared with the international community, " Davutoglu said on his Twitter on Thursday, calling on Israel to stop the military campaign in Gaza.

On the same day, Davutoglu stated in an interview that Turkey is working with international partners to negotiate both a cease- fire in the Gaza conflict and Palestinian access to humanitarian aid.

The UN Human Rights Council investigated Israel's attacks on Gaza in 2009 and accused both Israel and Hamas of committing war crimes. Endi
