Luxembourg Unemployment Rate Eases Slightly In June

Luxembourg's unemployment rate eased moderately in June, after rising in the previous month, figures from the statistical office STATEC showed Thursday.

The unemployment rate came in at a seasonally adjusted 7.2 percent in June. That followed by a 7.3 percent in the previous month, which was the highest since the series began in January 1995. A year ago, the jobless rate was 7 percent.

Data showed that there were 17,365 registered unemployed residents in the country during the month. On a yearly basis, the figure increased 6.6 percent, or by 1,077 persons.

The number persons engaged in an employment measure was 5,019 in the end of current month.
