Synack said in a statement Anagnos brings to the table 18 years of experience working in information security and enterprise, and will be driving the overall business strategy and working with customers to provide a understanding of the current security landscape and offer new ideas, tools and services.
Gus joins an executive team of former Senior National Security Agency analysts focused on addressing the evolving security needs of the enterprise.
Synack, based in Menlo Park California, describes itself as a startup enabling enterprises to "harness elite researchers and proprietary technologies employing the most current techniques in a trusted, verified model, to prevent security vulnerabilities from becoming business risks." Its main product is a subscription Security-as-a-Service solution for enterprise.
Prior to joining Synack, Gus was the Director of Information Risk and Security at PayPal and eBay.
“Bug Bounty programs add tremendous value; however, given my experience at PayPal, I know firsthand that building a bug bounty program from the ground up takes significant resources, expertise and perseverance, and for companies looking to protect their business from security threats, managing a program of this scale, without the in-depth knowledge of long-term security experts, adds risk and reduces value,” Anagnos said.
“Synack is a new generation company that solves broader security problems in a more efficient and effective way and we are hiring some of the best security talent I’ve seen in my career.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Gus to the Synack team; his remarkable vision for the future of enterprise-level security protection and his previous experience launching global bug bounty programs will be an invaluable asset to our customers and the company as a whole,” said CEO Jay Kaplan.
Kaplan said Synack's customers will benefit from Anagnos's “genuine passion and remarkable knowledge of the security and enterprise landscape.” For more information check out their website.
