Student ends fast-unto-death at Beli Hospital

Anil Kumar Singh, a student sitting on fast unto death at Union Building, demanding scrapping of Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) pattern of exams from Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) broke his fast at Tej Bahadur Sapru (Beli) Hospital here on Tuesday after administrative and police officials assured him of taking the issue with the government.

ALLAHABAD: Anil Kumar Singh, a student sitting on fast unto death at Union Building, demanding scrapping of Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) pattern of exams from Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) broke his fast at Tej Bahadur Sapru (Beli) Hospital here on Tuesday after administrative and police officials assured him of taking the issue with the government.
The newly appointed governor of West Bengal Keshari Nath Tripathi through telephonic talk also appealed Anil to break the fast.
Anil, who has been sitting on fast for the past four days, was forcibly admitted to the hospital by Colonelganj police on late Monday night after his condition worsened. The Congress and BJP leaders have supported Ani for his demand. ADM (administration) AK Singh said chief secretary Alok Ranjan had also given positive response on the issue raised by the students.
