KCR, Naidu express shock over train-bus crash

Leaders of various parties in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh also condole the death of 20 students in the mishap.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has expressed deep shock over the train-school bus accident at an unmanned level-crossing at Masaipet, in Veldurthi Mandal of Medak district on Thursday morning in which 20 students and the bus driver were killed.

The Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and Director General of Police Anurag Sharma to make all arrangements for better treatment of the injured. He visited a private hospital here where some of the critically injured students were brought for treatment.

Further, he directed Ministers T. Harish Rao and G. Jagadish Reddy to rush to the accident site and oversee the rescue operations. Two other Ministers, P. Mahender Reddy and T. Padma Rao, also rushed to the mishap site.

Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu, expressing grief over the accident, said the death of a large number of school children was shocking. He directed TDP leaders from Telangana - Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and L. Ramana - to rush to the accident site to help the authorities and TDP cadre in taking up rescue operations.

Chairman of Telangana Legislative Council K. Swamy Goud expressed deep shock over the accident and extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families. He requested the government to provide better treatment facility to the students injured in the mishap.

Telangana Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the death of the school students and termed it an unfortunate incident. He extended his condolences to the parents of the deceased school children.

YSR Congress party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy expressed shock and anguish over the tragic death of school students and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Mr. Jagan later went to the accident site.

In his message, Telangana BJP president G. Kishan Reddy condoled the death of the school students and demanded action against those responsible for the mishap.
