Chinese toymaker enters smartphone game market as exports fall

GUANGZHOU, China -- Chinese toymaker Guangdong Qunxing Toys will acquire a smartphone game developer to diversify its operations, as tighter regulations abroad hurt toy exports.

     Qunxing will invest 1.44 billion yuan ($232 million) to buy all shares of the Beijing-based company, which provides games for popular social app WeChat.
