International Police have arrested two people in Harare on allegations of stealing a laptop that contained classified information belonging to Botswana Examination Council (BEC). Police yesterday confirmed the arrests of the suspects last month in the city. According to Interpol, the laptop was stolen in December last year.

It was recovered last month using a tracking device. Interpol is carrying out investigations to try and ascertain how the computer was stolen and smuggled into the country.

It is verifying if the classified information was tempered with or leaked.
Media reports from Botswana yesterday quoted the managing director for Innovative Tracking Botswana, Mr Emmanuel Motlhatlhedi, confirming that BEC’s laptop was stolen last year.
