Noida double murder: Police yet to determine husband’s movements

On the evening of July 19, one day before the bodies were found, a white WagonR had gone up in flames on the Mahayama Expressway.

Three days after the bodies of a woman and her four-year-old daughter were found in their fourth floor apartment in a high rise complex in Noida, police are still trying to trace the husband’s location on July 17 and 18.

On the evening of July 19, one day before the bodies were found, a white WagonR had gone up in flames on the Mahayama Expressway with the driver completely charred to death. Police later found out that the car belonged to Nitin Rohilla, the husband of the victim Parul Rohilla.

In order to confirm the identity of the driver, police have sent DNA samples of the body and are still awaiting results. “Nitin’s family will be coming in the next two days. We will obtain DNA samples from them as well…to compare results obtained from the charred body with those of the family and confirm whether the person who died was indeed Nitin Rohilla or not,” an officer said.

According to police, CCTV footage has been acquired from the Yamaha factory (where Nitin worked) and the building where the Rohillas lived, to find out Nitin’s movements between July 16 and 19.

“We have also obtained a text message that Nitin sent to his superiors on July 17 saying, ‘I am unwell and will not be able to come to work’,” police said.

Festive offer

Police said after tracing Nitin’s mobile phone and analysis of CCTV footage during this period, they were able to ascertain that he was inside the apartment between July 16 and 19. “We cannot say anything conclusive about his presence and activities in the house during the time frame since there is no footage for the same,” an officer said.
