Ravi Verma elected new NIMA president

Ravi Verma, director of Marsman India Ltd, has been elected unopposed as the new president of Nashik Industries & Manufacturers' Association (NIMA), after K L Rathi withdrew his nomination.

NASHIK: Ravi Verma, director of Marsman India Ltd, has been elected unopposed as the new president of Nashik Industries & Manufacturers' Association (NIMA), after K L Rathi withdrew his nomination. The formal announcement is expected to be made on July 31.
Only two candidates, including Verma, had filed nominations for the post. Verma was the lone candidate after the director of Advance Enzymes Ltd, K L Rathi, withdrew his nomination.
The NIMA is an apex body of industrialists in Nashik with 2,817 members.

Elections to eight other posts of office-bearers were also held unopposed as a lone candidate remained on all eight posts after the last day of withdrawal of nominations on Tuesday. The names of newly elected office-bearers are to be announced at the annual general meeting of the association on July 31.
The eight office-bearers include, K L Rathi as vice-president (large scale), Sanjay Narang as vice-president (small scale category), Mangesh Patankar as General Secretary, C D Kulkarni as secretary from large scale category, Pradeep Bub as secretary from small scale category, Viral Thakkar as treasurer, Arun Chavanke as additional vice-president for Sinnar MIDC areas and Ashish Nahar as additional secretary for Sinnar.
The terms of the present NIMA president Manish Kothari, eight office-bearers and 30 members of the executive committee will end on July 31. Accordingly, biennial elections for the posts for the period from August 1, 2014 to July 31, 2016 were to be held on July 28.
