On Wednesday, Duff revealed the big news in a press release, announcing the details of her comeback track, which was also co-written by Jason Reeves and Toby Gad. Cementing her return to the music realm is the fact that our favorite former Disney queen is the latest act to sign with RCA Records.

In the release, Duff said she’s excited to partner with the label because its team understands where she wants to take her art. “I love my team there and feel so lucky to be in the company of their talented artists,” she said. “I came to them with my vision for the album and it has been a real labor of love, but something I am so proud of.”

As for “Chasing the Sun,” Duffsters can expect “a light and fun summer” song to end the season. Duff said she hopes the Gad-produced cut helps people feel a little more carefree. It’s available for pre-order on iTunes, and the accompanying video for the track will also premiere on VEVO the day of the single’s release.
