It was a mammoth task for the production house to recreate the elaborate sets, and the monsoons did not help. Says producer Abhimanyu Singh, “The outdoor sets at Talasari were in a bad shape and needed repairing.
It would have been easier for us to renew the contract, but we decided otherwise. Only a sturdy set can ensure the team’s safety and that was the primary reason for shifting to Filmcity.”
Aashka Goradia, who plays Dheerbai Bhatiyani in the show, says, “It used to take us six hours travelling to and fro. Since we were doing a historical show, it was a given that we would be shooting away from the city. But now, after moving to the new set, it takes less time to commute. Also, we have got our social lives back.”
