Celebs and their fave getaways
Tanuja I love being in Lonavala as the weather is great. I wish visitors would pollute it less so that we can continue to enjoy the wonderful place. They need to carry their garbage bags back so that they don’t leave behind the plastic, which harms the environment.

Rakul Preet Bhandardara, a small resort village around 200 km from Mumbai, is beautiful during monsoons.
I indulge in late-night parties, barbecues and hot jacuzzi apart from sightseeing. I had climbed Mount Kalsubai three years ago. The highest peak in Maharashtra, it’s located nearly 13 km away from Bhandardara. The view from the summit is to die for.
Arjan Bajwa Lonavala is ideal for a quick getaway during monsoons. Rains remind me of my childhood when I used to play with my siblings, getting wet, riding bicycle and playing football. My grandmother used to give us paranthas with pickle and chai.
Vatsal Seth Though I seldom get time to visit Goa, the idea itself is a stress-buster. The place is beautiful and the food, awesome. Whenever I go there on a mini-vacation, I come back refreshed and fully charged.
Mouni Roy I love going on long drives with Hindustani music playing in the car. Goa is the best place to go in rains, the weather is scenic. The best memories are from my childhood — I would wear my favourite pair of gumboots and go trekking in the jungles. Picking wild berries, getting drenched, dancing in the rain and getting scolded by Ma… those days were beautiful. When it rains, it feels like the Gods are trying to cleanse our souls.

Sara Khan My favourite monsoon destination is Rewalsar, which is in Himachal Pradesh near Mandi. It has amazing energy; the Rewalsar lake is surrounded by a Buddhist temple, gurudwara and some Hindu temples. When you wake up in the morning to the sound of bells and drums and walk down the beautiful foggy path, it feels surreal.
Hrishikesh Pandey It has to be Matheran for its lush green surroundings and hills. I have been there at least 15 times till now. And I go on weekdays, as I don’t like crowds. But the best memory of monsoon is walking to the Siddhivinayak temple from Town with my friends, some years ago.
Krrip Suri I like going to Mahabaleshwar. The greenery and the food at highway dhabas are tempting. While in college, my friends and I used to go on long drives, eating bhajiyas and chole bhature on the way. Rains only mean romance to me.
Vivek Mishra Kerala is my favourite destination during rains. It has beautiful rivers and good houseboats. My favourite company is my nephew, as it’s fun to become a child with him. My idea of fun in the rains is driving around, having awesome food, sipping adrak waali chai and playing with kids.
Shubhangi Latkar My favourite weekend destination during the rainy season is my farmhouse near Titwala. I love rains anywhere, anytime. I also enjoy going to Goa and Malshej.
Lauren Gottlieb I love to drive to Marine Drive for its spectacular view. And add to it the kadak chai that you get in the roadside stalls. I also love the corn you get along the way. I feel it’s the best season to fully enjoy all the beauty Mumbai has to offer.

Ali Fazal I would love to go back home and make my parents a nice cup of coffee, but unfortunately, they are not here with me. So, cinema halls come to my rescue. What better than watching a movie and sipping some hot coffee with a friend (I have a list).
