GSPC spends Rs. 7,992.47 crore in 5 years in KG basin

Gujarat Congress today alleged misuse of government money in KG basin by Gujarat govt run Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation(GSPC).
Congress party’s Viramgam MLA asked a question in the assembly about money spent for GSPC’s KG basin project and production of gas achieved through that.
The government in its reply said that it has spent Rs. 7,992.47 crore in last 5 years in KG Basin(before 31 December 2013) and gas production has not started as of now.
It should be mentioned tat Finance Minister Saurabh Patel had in his recent budget speech said that GSPC will soon start gas production in KG basin.
