Cases of ragging at the varsity will be monitored through two joint controls - one in North and the other in South Campus. Police pickets have also been placed outside colleges.

Anti-ragging and vigilance squads as well as disciplinary committees - comprising teachers and students - have been constituted to check ragging. Colleges had asked students and parents to submit affidavits on anti-ragging. The university has also asked the colleges to put up rules regarding prohibition of ragging on college premises.

Delhi University has rolled back the controversial four-year under-graduate programme (FYUP) and restructured the four-year courses introduced last year. According to the new restructuring, the university will function under a unique arrangement where students will be simultaneously taught under two different course structures.

The first will be exclusively for the 2013 FYUP batch and the second will be according to the 2012 syllabus for the rest of the batches.
