Indian equities pared some of its earlier gains and is trading on a flat note on Wednesday. IT and technology stocks traded higher whereas FMCG and oil & gas stocks registered a fall.
At 11.15 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 64.20 points or 0.25% at 26,090 with 15 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 21.25 points or 0.27% at 7,789.10 with 19 components gaining.
Top gainers were Infosys (2.22%), Hindalco (1.78%), TCS (1.69%) and Wipro (1.31%).
Top losers were Tata Power (1.77%), Axis Bank (1.32%), NTPC (1.27%) and Tata Steel (1.09%).
The BSE Smallcap index was at 10252.24 down by 16.52 points or by 0.16%.
The IT index was at 9,696.45, up by 155.08 points or by 1.63%. The TECk index was at 5,445.48, up by 57.86 points or by 1.07%.
The FMCG index was at 7,022.63, down by 17.65 points or by 0.25%. The Oil & Gas index was at 10,995.85, down by 27.04 points or by 0.25%.
