Old couple electrocuted in Doksaha

A couple identified as Ashok Srivastava (55) and his wife Arpana Srivastava (45), residents of Doksaha village was electrocuted in their residence under Kaushambi police station on Tuesday.

ALLAHABAD: A couple identified as Ashok Srivastava (55) and his wife Arpana Srivastava (45), residents of Doksaha village was electrocuted in their residence under Kaushambi police station on Tuesday.
The incident, as per reports, took place when the couple came in contact with high tension wire and died on the spot. Reports said said that a high tension line wire fell on house and damaged cooler and water pump motor installed inside the house.
When Ashok tried to save the water pump motor, he somehow came in contact with the high tension wire and electrocuted. Seeing her husband in trouble, wife made an abortive bid to save him and she too came in contact with the high tension wire and got electrocuted. Following this, other family members raised an alarm and approached police and power department officials. However, the couple died on the spot due to electrocution.
