BHOPAL: More than 450 complaints of power supply disruption were received by officials of Madhya Pradesh Central Region Power Distribution Company on Tuesday following incessant rainfall.
However, officials claim the figure is not too high and during the rainy season usually 700 complaints are reported in a 24 hour period. On Monday 800 complaints were received and 450 were received till Tuesday evening.
"Of the 450 complaints that were received only 70 cases have been solved and the efforts are on to address the remaining," executive engineer of the company's city circle Sanjeev Kumar Singh told TOI.
"Complaints of power disruption are fewer because the winds were not strong and although the rains were incessant but it did not rain heavily," he said.
"Moreover, unlike the first showers which are mostly accompanied by winds, power is not disrupted much during later showers. When the first monsoon showers arrived in the city we received around 1,180 complaints," Singh said.
"Today, we received just 450 complaints were received and most of them have been disposed. Most complaints were received from Karond area," he said.
