DDA draw for Rohini plots in August
NEW DELHI: Following the Supreme Court’s order of giving land to the allottees of DDA’s 33-year-old Rohini housing scheme, a draw has been announced for the remaining allottees next month.
According to DDA, only 744 allottees of the initial 82,384 successful applicants are yet to get land and all of them will be allotted plots on August 8.
Some of the allottees, however, alleged that DDA wasn’t really carrying out the court order.
Rahul Gupta, an allottee, said the apex court had asked DDA to hand over “developed plots” while the authority would hold a draw for plots that have no connecting services, power or water.
Senior DDA officials said the plots couldn’t be developed as residents of the nearby Barwala village had opposed the land acquisition. “We will make sure that all services are extended to the plots by November,” said DDA vice-chairperson Balvinder Kumar.
