Special counters to file your tax returns

BANGALORE: Like every year, the income-tax department will set up special counters at Gayathri Vihar, Palace Grounds, from July 29 to 31, for salaried employees and pensioners to submit their tax returns. The counters will be open from 9.30am to 5pm on all the three days. During this period, salaried assessees and pensioners should avoid filing their returns at HMT Bhavan, Bellary Road.
The department said 80 special counters will be set up, and arrangements have been made to receive individual and bulk returns separately. For those filing returns online, e-filing intermediaries will be available at the venue. In addition, the counters will have facilities like ATMs, swipe machines and bank extension counters.
