Man who killed prominent Md. blogger sentenced to 30 years

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. - A man who pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing his 14-year-old girlfriend's father last May has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Jason Bulmer, 20, pleaded guilty in February to first-degree murder in the death of 58-year-old Dennis Lane. He was sentenced Monday in Howard County Circuit Court.

Prosecutors say Bulmer and his girlfriend Morgan Arnold plotted for months to killed Lane so the couple could run away to California. Lane was stabbed in his daughter's bedroom on May 10, 2013.

Arnold, now 15, has been charged as an adult with murder in the slaying.
