Arpita, who stars in Onir's Shab, was in for a bizarre reaction to her cropped hair look. And it came from none other than her son Trishanjit. "Mom, you look like a boy," said the 9-year-old son of Arpita and Prosenjit Chatterjee.
Arpita, who plays Raina, a south-Delhi hip socialite, in love with a younger man in Shab, got herself a pixie cut as per the requirements of her character.
Though she was apprehensive of her son's reaction to her new hair-cut, she didn't see it coming. Apparently, her son had a tough time dealing with her new look, as his classmates and friends kept telling him that his mom looked like his sister. Hubby Prosenjit, though, was perfectly fine with Arpita's new look.
Arpita, who shot with Onir for Chauranga before starting with Shab, said about the director, "I gave my affirmative nod because of four letters ONIR. When I met him for the first time, the one prevailing thought which I had in my mind was that, I have met a genuine human being. I didn't expect that a person who represents Indian cinema in the international market could be so humble and amiable. To me, being a performing artist is not only about name, fame and money but also about feeding my unlimited passion for perfecting my art. Hence, it is very important for me to know who I am working with and what kind of people they are. Onir, of course won my heart on the very first meeting. Onir and his entire team has become an additional family to me. I am completely intoxicated with Shab."
The actress completed a workshop panning a month and started shooting from yesterday. The film also stars Ashish Bisht and Shrey Ray Tiwari, both primarily models, who will be making their debuts with Onir's Shab, apart from French actor Simon Frenay.
Onir, incidentally, had also roped in Adil Hussain to conduct a workshop for Asish Bisht, and he praised Shrey, who plays a typical Delhi brat named Nishant, on Facebook.

While Sangeeta Bijlani was also approached for the film, she backed out because of a couple of intimate scenes that her character had. However, Arpita, who too has love-making scenes in the film, is very comfortable with the idea.
