SCC Student Finishes Eighth Nationally at PBL Leadership Conference


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LINCOLN, Neb., July 21 -- Southeast Community College issued the following news release: Dylan Countryman, a Southeast Community College student from Milford, placed eighth at the Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference held June 24-27 in Nashville, Tenn.



Countryman, a Business Administration (https://www.southeast.edu/BusinessAdmin/) student at SCC's Milford Campus, was joined by Bethany Domann from St. Joseph, Mo., an Architectural-Engineering (https://www.southeast.edu/ArchitecturalEngineering/) student at SCC-Milford, and Christian Crosby from Beatrice, a Manufacturing Engineering (https://www.southeast.edu/ManufacturingTech/0 student at SCC-Milford.

Countryman finished eighth nationally in the Macroeconomics event. He was recognized during the closing ceremonies of the conference, which was held at the Grand Ole Opry Resort. Domann competed in the Sales Presentation event, while Crosby competed in the Impromptu Speaking event.


Overall, Nebraska PBL finished with 52 top-10 finishes, the most ever, including six first-place awards.

Approximately 80 Nebraska PBL members, advisors and guests attended the annual conference. Nearly 1,700 of America's best and brightest college students traveled to Nashville as they showcased their talents as future business leaders and vied for the opportunity to win more than $79,000 in cash awards.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is the largest and oldest student business organization. Participants from across the United States and two countries were in attendance for this conference to sharpen their core business skills, expand their networks and participate in more than 55 business and business-related competitive events.

FBLA-PBL Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) education association with a quarter million members and advisers in more than 6,500 active middle school, high school and college chapters worldwide. Its mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
