ALLAHABAD: The family members of a youth from Koilee ka purva village in Paschim Sarira in Kaushambi district alleged that their son identified as
Manoj died due to police high-handness. They made an attempt to block Kaushambi Road but they were not supported by other villagers.
The
Kaushambi police have dismissed the allegations, stating that Manoj had died of illness.
Paschim Sarira police said that Manoj was arrested on June 29 under the Arms Act. He was bailed out on July 2. On Sunday night, his condition deteriorated and he died.
The family members alleged that the police had detained him a week back during a vehicle checking drive on suspicion of involvement in a theft case but later freed. The kin said that they would approach police authorities and demand probe into the incident.
