JKNM reiterates twin city demand

JAMMU, July 21: Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Movement (JKNM) in a meeting at Sharika Peeth, Subash Nagar here in which the prevailing political situation in the State viz-a-viz the Government’s return formula was discussed in detail.
The meeting was chaired by president of Sharika Peeth Sanastha, M K Jalalai.
Addressing the meeting Bansi Lal Pandita, coordinator of JKNM, said carving out of twin city was the only viable for return and rehabilitation of KPs back to Valley. He said nothing short of this will be acceptable to community.
Rejecting the formula of settling KPs in clusters in Valley, he said there is a total consensus on the issue in this regard and the community has rejected the formula of settlement in clusters.
Pandita said return and rehabilitation of displaced families should be based on their retention in Valley and preservation of their ethno-cultural identity.
Addressing the meeting P L Koul Badgami lambasted the State Government for its casual approach towards the return package of the Pandits. He cautioned the community members not to give any consent to or submit any form floated by authorities in haste as it will prove counter productive.
M K Jalali president of Sanstha expressed his displeasure over Government’s role on July 13 episode at Mattan and urged the authorities to take immediate steps in restoring normalcy at holy Shrine.
Those who addressed the meeting include Vijay Kashkari of AIKS, Ashok Braroo of KPS, S P Zutshi, C L Pandita, Mr Bagati and others.
