Tenth seed Ruthvika Shivani Gadde (Andhra Pradesh) proved that her win against No 1 Reshma Karthik of Air India in the girl's U-19 semis was no flash in the pan.

The Gopichand Academy trainee, comfortably beat fourth seed Shikha Gautam of Karnataka 21-15, 21-8 in the final of the 3rd Gautam Thakkar Memorial All India junior badminton tourney at Bombay Gymkhana yesterday.


Ruthvika (16), a Class 12 student of Jubilee Hills Public School, Hyderabad showed fine touch and totally dominated the
contest to win in 30 mins.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra's Kaushal Dharmamer beat Daniel Farid 21-18, 24-22 in 50 mins for the boys title.

Home favourite and top seed Kaushal, a trainee of the Uday Pawar Badminton Academy displayed superior strokeplay en route the coveted title.
