BAGALKOT: Chief minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday said school managements will be held responsible for crime against children on their campus and warned of action against institutions which fail to ensure safety of their students.
“We’ll initiate strict action against school managements if they fail to ensure the safety of children,’’ Siddaramaiah told reporters in a village in Jamkhandi taluk, Bagalkot district.

He said school managements have been instructed to install CCTV cameras on the campuses and submit details of all staff members to the nearest police stations. “Police will also visit schools located in their jurisdiction once a month to keep a vigil on the safety of children,” he added. Harsh punishments will send out a stern message and act as a deterrent, the CM said.
