Three months after merchant navy official Kishore Matta, 34, went missing under mysterious circumstances in Myanmar, his family and relatives on Sunday held a candle-lit march demanding action by the Central government.

GURGAON: Three months after merchant navy official Kishore Matta, 34, went missing under mysterious circumstances in Myanmar, his family and relatives on Sunday held a candle-lit march demanding action by the Central government. Starting from Tau Devi Lal stadium near Rajiv Chowk, the march concluded at Subhash Chowk.
Matta, whose family lives in Gurgaon, has been missing since April 18 from cargo vessel Greatship Maya while stationed at Myanmar.
Social organisation Parivartan Sangh and around 200 merchant navy officials joined Matta's family in the protest. They expressed dissatisfaction over the efforts made by government agencies so far in locating Matta.
Rakesh Daultabad of Parivartan Sangh said, "If Matta is alive, he should be brought back safely
. In case of a mishap, the government should make serious efforts to deliver justice to his family." Matta's family is planning to meet the PM to seek government support, he added.Senior merchant navy official Anil Deswal said, "Matta was last seen on the ship on the evening of April 18. Gurgaon police has been ignoring the family's requests, claiming the case falls under the external affairs ministry. When his family travelled to Singapore in search of Matta, the employers could not provide any satisfactory answer to their queries
