Legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah turns 64!

Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah is celebrating his 64th birthday today. Considered as one of the finest actors of the industry, Shah has carved a niche for himself over the years.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah is celebrating his 64th birthday today. Considered as one of the finest actors of the industry, Shah has carved a niche for himself over the years. The veteran actor has not only been successful in mainstream commercial films but has also done some tremendous roles in parallel cinema. Shah became active in mainstream cinema with 1980 film `Hum Paanch` and since then there is no looking back for the actor. His next major success was 1986 multi-starrer film `Karma`. From essaying a negetive character in `Sarfarosh` to playing Mahatma Gandhi in `Hey Ram`, Shah has done it all and that too with lot of ease. Shah has acted in several superhit movies like `Nishant`, `Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron`, `Mandi`, `Ardh Satya` and `Dirty Picture` during his career. Besides Bollywood, he has also worked in some international projects that include `Monsoon Wedding` in 2001 and a Hollywood comic book adaptation `The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen` in 2003. He made his Pakistani film debut in `Khuda Ke Liye`, a film by Shoib Mansoor. During his career the legendary actor has won several awards including three national awards and one at the prestigious Venice Film Festival. He was also honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2003. Naseeruddin Shah was last seen in `Dedh Ishqiya` and will soon feature in upcoming Konkani-English film `Finding Fanny`.
